The product (HC-CohesivePro 4003) is a solution of modified alkylene copolymer. It is designed to be used as a adhesion promoter for aqueous and solvent-borne coatings (especially for aqueous and solvent-borne architectural coatings, industrial coatings, coil coatings (on galvanized steel), protective coatings, and automotive coatings) to improve their adhesion to aged coatings, oxidized steel, galvanized steel, and polar plastics, such as ABS and glass-fiber reinforced polyester. For aqueous systems, HC-CohesivePro 4003 is suitable for emulsion paints, alkyd emulsions, hybrid systems, and water reducible alkyd resin systems; For solvent-borne systems, HC-CohesivePro 4003 is suitable for thermoplastic acrylates, epoxy resin ester, melamine resin cross-linking baking systems.

Depending on the purpose of use, the product is added to the powder coating formulation at 1-3% level based on the total formulation. For solvent-based systems, the product is added to the finished paint under stirring conditions. For water-based systems, the product is added only after all resins, cosolvents (if applicable) have been added.
