Catalyst Resin List

Catalyst Resin

The catalytic moiety of a catalyst resin is usually attached to the side chain of polymer resins such as polystyrene. Catalyst resins are used as catalysts for various kinds of organic synthesis. Cross-linked polymers are often employed as polymer support material due to their insolubility. Insoluble polymer catalysts can be easily separated from the reaction mixture and reused.

Compared with the liquid catalyst, the catalyst resin has incomparable advantages, such as easier separation of products, less reaction by-products, less corrosion to equipment, less pollution to environment, and continuous production. With the continuous environmental awareness and demand, it has become an irresistible trend for the solid acid and base catalyst of chemical reaction to replace the liquid acid and base catalyst.

Typical Applications

Catalyst resins are commonly used in the organic synthesis field. Specifically, they can be used in the following areas:

  • Synthesis of Bisphenol A.
  • Phenylene butene hydrate and isobutylene hydrate.
  • MTBE (methyl tert-butyl ether) and TAME (tertiary amyl methyl ether) catalysis.
  • Phenol alkylation and aromatic hydrocarbon alkylation.
  • Catalyze isobutylene etherification and isoamylene etherification.
  • Catalyze propylene, acrylic ester.
  • Catalyze maleic anhydride esterification.
  • An acid catalyst used in a high temperature or under oxidation condition.

Alfa Chemistry catalyst resins are gel-type and macroporous styrene-based resins which are usually in the form of H and with high temperature resistance, fast catalytic reaction, high efficiency and better product purity. We offer catalyst resins in various specifications. To place an order or request a quote, please don't hesitate to contact us.
