Metal intalox saddle is a new type of random packing which combines the advantages of ring and saddle. The annular ribs of metal intalox saddle effectively avoid overlapping. As the special structure, the gas-liquid agitation is enhanced, and the mass transfer coefficient is increased.
Compared with traditional packings, metal intalox saddle is frequently used in deep vacuum towers where low pressure drop is crucial, and it offers a 30% lower pressure drop than metal Pall rings but with a lower liquid hold-up.
