4A Molecular Sieve

4A molecular sieve is a synthetic crystalline aluminosilicate with a regular micropore structure which is the sodium form of the Type A structure. It has a pore size of 4 angstrom.

4A molecular sieve has the features of excellent adsorption speed, high chemical resistance, and stronger adsorption. It is commonly used for drying of organic liquids (solvents, oils, gasoline and other saturated hydrocarbons), air, liquid gases (propane, butane), as well as noble and other gases (H2, N2, He, Ar, etc.). It exhibits high water adsorption capacity at low partial pressures and at temperatures up to 100°C.

Application

Alfa Chemistry 4A molecular sieve is commonly used for/as:

  • Moisture removal in plastic or paint
  • Natural gas drying
  • Drying cracked gas
  • Static drying of insulating glass units, whether air filled or gas-filled
  • Dehydration of highly polar compounds, such as methanol and ethanol
  • Dehydration of unsaturated hydrocarbons, such as thylene, propylene, butadiene
