Medium-temperature Calcined BFA (P-grit)

Inquire Now

As a professional supplier of abrasives and technical services, Alfa Chemistry offers medium-temperature calcined brown fused alumina (BFA) P-grit, a high-performance abrasive engineered specifically for coated abrasive applications. By subjecting carefully graded brown fused alumina to a controlled medium-temperature calcination process, surface impurities and internal volatiles are efficiently removed. These results in enhanced grain properties such as increased toughness, improved wettability, reduced magnetic contaminants, and better thermal and mechanical stability. These improvements make our calcined BFA P-grit ideal for high-quality abrasive cloths, papers, and non-woven abrasives.

Key Features

  • Enhanced Toughness: Improved structural integrity enables higher resistance to fracture during grinding.
  • Superior Hydrophilicity: It promotes better adhesion to resin binders, improving the consistency of coated abrasive products.
  • High Cleanliness: Calcination removes residual organics and impurities, ensuring cleaner grain surfaces for optimal bonding.
  • Low Magnetic Substance Content: Significantly reduced ferromagnetic inclusions enhance processing stability and product purity.
  • Increased Hardness: It supports efficient material removal and prolonged abrasive life.
  • Improved Thermal Conductivity: It facilitates better heat dissipation, minimizing workpiece damage during grinding.

Available Grades and Applications

  • HG-AB010: This abrasive features a sharp, pointed morphology and low bulk density, promoting excellent self-sharpening capabilities. Coated abrasives produced with HG-AB010 are exceptionally sharp, dissipate heat efficiently, and deliver high grinding efficiency. It is ideal for manufacturing abrasive cloth, sandpaper, and nylon wheels used in both manual and power tool grinding of various metals.
  • HG-AB011: Characterized by a polyhedral shape and moderate bulk density, HG-AB011 excels in durability. Abrasives made with this grade offer superior sharpness, effective heat dissipation, and significantly enhanced service life, all while maintaining high grinding efficiency. It is perfectly suited for producing abrasive cloth, sandpaper, and nylon wheels for processing challenging materials such as low-carbon steel, alloy steel, hard bronze, and hard wood.
