Coated BFA (F-grit)

Inquire Now

As a professional supplier of abrasives and technical services, Alfa Chemistry offers coated brown fused alumina (BFA) F-grit, a high-performance abrasive engineered to elevate your grinding and cutting operations. It is a specially enhanced abrasive produced by meticulously encapsulating the surface of either medium-temperature or high-temperature calcined BFA F-grit. This proprietary process utilizes a precise combination of inorganic ceramic binders and unique auxiliaries, ensuring a seamless, uniform coating on each particle. Following application, the coated particles undergo specific temperature and time treatments, culminating in a final heat treatment that locks in their enhanced properties. The result is a vibrant red abrasive that sets new standards for performance and durability.

Key Features

  • Excellent Hydrophilicity: It facilitates better dispersion and bonding in resin matrices.
  • High Purity and Cleanliness: It reduces contamination risks and ensures consistent performance.
  • Strong Grain-Binder Affinity: It enhances bonding strength and minimizes grain pull-out.
  • Uniform Particle Size Distribution: It ensures stable grinding, uniform surface finishes, and improved tool consistency.
  • Superior Heat Dissipation: It reduces thermal stress and enhances tool longevity.
  • Enhanced Mechanical Properties: Including higher toughness and cutting stability.

Available Grades and Applications

We offer two distinct grades of Coated BFA, each tailored for specific high-demand applications:

HG-AB016 (Medium-Temperature Coated Brown Fused Alumina)

  • Description: A bright red, cubic abrasive.
  • Characteristics: Significantly improved hydrophilicity, strong bonding, and excellent heat dissipation.
  • Primary Application: Ideal for manufacturing high-grade resin-bonded abrasive tools.
  • Recommended Use: Especially effective for heavy-duty grinding and polishing of metals, delivering reliable cutting stability and an extended service life.

HG-AB017 (High-Temperature Coated Brown Fused Alumina)

  • Description: A dark red, cubic abrasive.
  • Characteristics: Marked improvements in toughness, hydrophilicity, cleanliness, magnetic substance content, and hardness compared to HG-AB016. It also boasts strong bonding and superior heat dissipation.
  • Primary Application: Designed for demanding resin-bonded abrasive tools used in high-requirement cutting and grinding of hard plates.
  • Recommended Use: Preferred for high-grade, heavy-duty grinding wheels, including those for double disc grinding and external cylindrical grinding. This grade ensures even higher cutting stability and a longer operational life, providing excellent heat dissipation while maintaining exceptional durability.
